- take measurements you need to make a 6-piece skirt
- mark your fabric using the measurements you took
- cut and sew a 6 piece elastic waist skirt
You'll learn how to calculate what to mark on your fabric, based on the measurements you took, in a simple but detailed way.
To get started, here are the knowledge and tools you need:
- Be able to make basic straight stitches with a sewing machine
- Be able to use and read a tape measure
- Have the tools needed which include scissors, fabric marker or chalk, tape measure, and ruler

Learn to Sew Academy
Learn to Sew Academy started as a home-based studio teaching kids and adults summer classes. We now offer year-round training and Sewing Workshops. We organize sewing training events, as well as partner with libraries and other organizations to bring our sewing programs and classes to their patrons. Due to requests from people who were unable to get to our physical locations, we decided to launch our online platform to provide both free and paid courses to our clients, present and prospective. Our goal is to make sewing as simple as can be, with our detailed, easy-to-understand teaching styles. Looking forward to making your sewing adventure easy, memorable, and fun!
